The cheapest visit in the building is one $5.25 wash and one $1.50 dry, $6.75 all in. The most anyone spends on a single load is the 80 pound washer with the 75 pound dryer for 18 minutes, $14.00, which is the top of the $6.75 to $14.00 range printed on our pricing page. Longer drying adds a quarter at a time.

Most people compare a laundromat price with nothing, or with the quarters they remember feeding a machine years ago. The comparison that matters is cost per load, and it has to include what a washer and dryer cost to own. Counted that way, a load in one of these machines is the cheapest way to do laundry in Jerome for most households, and for anything bulky it is not close.

Drying: a 55 lb dryer is $1.50 for the first 18 minutes and $0.25 for every 4 minutes after, so a 40 lb wash dries for $1.50 to $2.00, about $0.40 to $0.50 per home load. Wash and dry together: about $1.55 to $1.80 per home load. A week of laundry for an average household, about 50 pounds, is one 60 lb washer and $2.25 of drying, about $9.25, or roughly 18 cents a pound, done in about an hour.

Read the ownership line again, because it moves. A home washer is only cheap when it is busy: at four loads a week owning the machines is about $1.20 a load and the total is about $1.85; at two loads a week it is about $3.00. The lines cross at roughly four or five loads a week. The rule of thumb: pick the washer by what you are carrying in, not by price. A drum you fill costs less per pound than a drum you half fill, and the two largest sizes are the largest washers we know of in Jerome for bulky bedding in one go.

- Will you feel fine walking in at 11 at night? The store is unattended and covered by 12 high definition security cameras inside and out. The room is bright, the 21 free striped parking spaces are lit at night, and the front is glass so you can see in and out.

- Is it cleaned, and does the water rinse clean? The store is cleaned daily. All of the water, hot and cold, is softened, and the hot water comes from on-demand gas heaters so it does not run out.

Who we are a good fit for, and who we are not
A good fit if you want to wash on your own schedule, including the middle of the night; if you have bulky bedding or a big family load; if you would rather pay by card or phone than hunt for quarters; and if you like knowing the price before you leave the house.

Ours are simple. Knock the mud, grease and debris off before anything goes in a machine, and skip whatever the care tag says is not machine washable. Return the rolling carts; there is a bilingual sign asking. Children are welcome with an adult supervising them. Service animals are welcome. And the one rule every laundromat shares: take your load out when the cycle ends so the next person can start.
Is it sanitary to wash your clothes at a laundromat?
At ours, here is what you can check for yourself. Every washer and dryer is a commercial Speed Queen that was brand new when the store opened in 2026, the store is cleaned daily, and all of the water is softened, hot and cold, with the hot water coming from on-demand gas heaters. Bleach is $1.25 from the vending machine by the entrance if you want it in your load. We also ask everyone to knock the worst dirt off before it goes in, so the next person does not inherit it.
What should I bring to a laundromat?
Less than you think, at least here. You do not need quarters: cards, the Speed Queen app and Scan to Pay all work at every machine, and there is a change machine and an ATM if you want coins. Bring detergent if you have a preference; single use detergent, softener sheets, bleach and stain remover are $1.25 each from the vending machine if you forget. Bring baskets or bags to carry it home, and your phone, since the WiFi is free and the app tells you when the load is done.
How much does it cost to wash a comforter in Jerome?
In our 60 pound washer, $7.00 for a standard cycle, plus $1.50 for the first 18 minutes in a 55 pound dryer, so $8.50 before any extra drying time. King bedding fits the 80 pound washer at $12.00, and with the 75 pound dryer at $2.00 for 18 minutes that is $14.00. Bulky items may need more than the first 18 minutes to dry through, and every extra quarter adds 4 minutes on the 55 pound dryer or 3 on the 75 pound.
Can you wash pillows or shoes at a laundromat?

How do I avoid bed bugs at a laundromat?
No laundromat can inspect what comes through the door, and we will not claim to. The habits people use anywhere apply here: bring laundry in a bag you can close, run the dryer long enough that everything is dry all the way through, and bag it again before it goes back in the car. On our side, the store is cleaned daily and the machines are commercial front loaders that were new in 2026.
