What a Load of Laundry Costs in Jerome
A standard wash cycle in our 40 pound washer is $5.25. The 60 pound is $7.00. The 80 pound is $12.00. Those prices are printed on our pricing page with the number of each machine next to them.
On September 2, 2026 we read every other laundry business's own website in Jerome and Twin Falls. Seven of them. One publishes a single washer price. None publishes a full price list. That is not a gap in our research. That is the finding, and it is the reason this page exists.
Below is the whole list. Washer sizes and prices, dryer pricing and the minutes you get per quarter, the machine counts, every way to pay including the one that adds a fee, and honest drive times to the Twin Falls options.
What a load costs
Three washer sizes, one flat price each for a standard cycle. The 40 pound is labeled a 4 load washer and runs $5.25. The 60 pound is a 6 load and runs $7.00. The 80 pound is an 8 load and runs $12.00. You do not have to call anyone or stand at a kiosk to find that out.
One qualifier, and it is on the pricing page too. Starting prices are for a standard wash cycle. Every washer and dryer has fully customizable cycles, so added options change the price. A typical wash and dry runs $6.75 to $14.00.
| Machine | Size | Price | What that buys | How many we have |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Washer | 40 lb, 4 load | $5.25 | One standard wash cycle | 10 |
| Washer | 60 lb, 6 load | $7.00 | One standard wash cycle | 4 |
| Washer | 80 lb, 8 load | $12.00 | One standard wash cycle | 2 |
| Dryer | 55 lb | $1.50 | 18 minutes, then 4 more minutes per quarter | 18 |
| Dryer | 75 lb | $2.00 | 18 minutes, then 3 more minutes per quarter | 2 |
Jerome Handy Wash price list, 921 N Lincoln Ave Suite A, Jerome, ID 83338
Supplies are vended on site at fixed prices. Single use detergent, fabric softener sheets, bleach and stain remover are $1.25 each. Snacks and drinks run $0.75 to $3.00.
Cost per load: one machine here is several loads at home
A typical home washer takes about 10 pounds. Priced per home load, this is what our machines cost:
| Machine | Home loads it holds | Price per wash | Price per home load |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40 lb washer | 4 | $5.25 | $1.31 |
| 60 lb washer | 6 | $7.00 | $1.17 |
| 80 lb washer | 8 | $12.00 | $1.50 |
Jerome Handy Wash washer prices per home-sized load; drying is extra.
Drying adds about $0.40 to $0.50 per home load, so wash and dry together is about $1.55 to $1.80 per home load. Our estimate for the same 10-pound load at home, once you count owning a washer and dryer (about $250 a year with repairs), electricity, water and sewer, is $1.20 to $1.40 a load when the machines run 7 to 8 loads a week, about $1.85 at four loads a week and about $3.00 at two. The lines cross at roughly four or five loads a week: below that, a load here is cheaper than the same load at home, and for anything bulky it is not close.
We have not found a lower price per pound of laundry in Jerome, and we publish every price we charge so you can check it against any other laundromat's board. The full arithmetic, with every assumption printed, is in cost per load on the laundromats in Jerome page.
Dryers run on quarters, and the minutes are the difference
Both dryer sizes are gas and high efficiency. What changes with size is how many minutes a quarter buys you.
On a 55 pound dryer, $1.50 buys 18 minutes. After that, every additional quarter adds 4 more minutes. On the 75 pound giant, $2.00 buys 18 minutes, and every additional quarter adds 3 more minutes. You feed it quarters until the load is dry, and you stop when it is dry.
The cycle times we publish, so you can plan the trip: quick wash 18 minutes, normal wash 22 minutes, heavy wash 44 minutes, and a typical dry of 18 minutes.
How many machines there are, and why we print the number
36 machines. That number is on the home page because the thing you actually want to know at 9 on a Sunday night is whether a washer will be open.
- 16 washers
- Ten 40 pound, four 60 pound, two 80 pound. All Speed Queen Quantum Touch, stainless, brand new.
- 20 dryers
- Eighteen 55 pound stacked pockets and two 75 pound standalone giants. High efficiency gas.
That count sits next to each price on our pricing page, size by size. None of the seven other laundry businesses we checked publishes a machine count of any kind.
Every way you can pay, and the one that adds 25 cents
Four ways to pay at the machine, and two ways to get cash while you are here.
- Coins, at any machine
- All major credit and debit cards, at the machine
- The Speed Queen mobile app, location code JEROME
- Scan to Pay, with Apple Pay, Google Wallet or Samsung Wallet
- Cash, through the change machine, which takes $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills and dispenses quarters
- The ATM on site
Straight from our pricing page: there is no surcharge to pay, except on Scan to Pay, which adds 25 cents. Paying through the Speed Queen app removes that surcharge. Our FAQ adds the other half of it: coins, cash and cards at the machine have no added fee.
So the only fee in the building is 25 cents, it applies to exactly one payment method, and there is a free way around it. We would rather print that than have you find it on the screen.
Open 24 hours, and nobody is here
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year including holidays. There is no closing time to beat.
The store is unattended. Not lightly staffed, not attended during the day. There is no attendant at any hour, and that is how the prices stay where they are. Twelve high definition security cameras cover the inside and the outside, the lot has 21 free striped parking spaces lit at night, and the place is cleaned daily.
If a machine takes your money, call or text (208) 420-6328 or email help@jeromehandywash.com. The phone rings to Seth. We answer within 24 hours and can refund as a machine credit or start a machine for you remotely.
We do not offer wash, dry and fold, and we do not offer pickup and delivery. Jerome Handy Wash is self service. Commercial and bulk laundry is welcome, by email, and we will talk pricing then.
What the other laundromats we checked actually publish
On September 2, 2026 we read every other laundry business's own website. Where a business has no website of its own, we used only what the business itself wrote, on its own owner managed Google profile or its own Facebook page. We did not repeat directory copy as anybody's words. Where a business publishes nothing, we recorded that as a fact about the business.
Of the 7 other laundry businesses checked in Twin Falls and Jerome, one publishes any washer price at all, and none publishes a full price list.
The other laundromat we checked in Jerome has no website of its own. No washer price, no dryer price, no machine count, no payment methods, no service list. The business now at that address lists hours on an owner managed Google profile that run 7 AM to 9 PM on the days shown, so it is not open around the clock.
In Twin Falls the picture is the same. The one published washer price in the entire set is $5 for a quad load machine, and it sits in an owner's reply to a review posted about a month before we checked, with the owner noting the price goes up if you change run time options. In that same reply the owner puts a double load machine at their second Twin Falls store at $2.75. That is two numbers, in a comment thread, for two stores. It is not a price list. A different Twin Falls store has a real working website whose /prices and /pricing pages both return 404.
Heavenly Scent Laundromat is worth naming for a different reason. Its domain is no longer registered as of September 2, 2026, confirmed by NXDOMAIN from both Google and Cloudflare public DNS and a 404 from the registry. We make no claim about whether that store is open or what it charges, because there is nothing current to read and nothing safe to link to. Whatever that site said in 2024 is history, not a price you can go check today.
The seventh business in the set shares a Twin Falls address with one of the stores above and publishes nothing about itself anywhere: no website, no social page, no listing it wrote itself. It gets no row in the table below because there would be nothing to put in the row.
One limit, stated plainly. This is what the seven businesses we checked publish, as of September 2, 2026. It is not a census of every laundry business in the county, and it is not a claim that no one else has a website. If one of them posts a price list tomorrow, this page is out of date until we check again.

Driving distance and time from 921 N Lincoln Ave Suite A, Jerome, measured September 2, 2026
So it is 17 to 22 minutes each way, and at the end of it you still cannot look up what a full load will cost before you leave the house. Two of those Twin Falls businesses publish hours that stop well short of 24. Two publish no hours at all. If the drive is worth it to you for other reasons, take it. We would just rather you make that call with the numbers in front of you.

How these numbers were measured. Every walking time on this page was routed on the real pedestrian network using OSRM routed foot, on September 2, 2026. The median implied pace works out to 1.25 meters per second, about 2.8 miles per hour, so a fast walker will beat these and a slow one will not. Driving times came from the same router's car profile on the same day. The list of nearby places comes from Overture Maps, release 2026-08-19.0, downloaded September 1, 2026. We name only the places we could confirm by name and address in that data. The rest are counted, not named.
