Frequently Asked Questions
Prices, hours, machines, payment, and what to do if something goes wrong.
Is Jerome Handy Wash open 24 hours?
Yes. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year including holidays. There is no closing time to beat, so you can come at six in the morning or eleven at night. The store is unattended, which is how we keep prices where they are.
How much does laundry cost at Jerome Handy Wash?
A typical wash and dry runs $6.75 to $13.75 depending on the machine size and how long you dry. Washers start at $5.25 for a 40 pound machine, $7.00 for a 60 pound, and $12.00 for an 80 pound. Dryers are $1.50 for 18 minutes on a 55 pound machine, then 4 more minutes per quarter, and $1.75 for 18 minutes on a 75 pound giant, then 3 more minutes per quarter. Starting prices cover a standard wash cycle, and added cycle options change the price.
Where is Jerome Handy Wash located?
We are at 921 N Lincoln Ave, Suite A, Jerome, ID 83338, on the north side of town. There are 21 free striped parking spaces out front, lit at night, with accessible spaces at the door and room to turn a truck or trailer around.
How many washers and dryers do you have?
Sixteen washers and twenty dryers, forty six machines counting the stacked dryer pockets separately. The washers are ten 40 pound, four 60 pound, and two 80 pound. The dryers are eighteen 55 pound pockets, in stacked units, and two standalone 75 pound giants. With that many machines you rarely wait, even on a Saturday.
What brand are the machines?
Every washer and dryer is a Speed Queen Quantum Touch stainless machine, and all of them are brand new as of our 2026 opening. Nothing here is relocated or refurbished.
How do I pay?
However works for you. We take coins, cash at the change machine, all major credit and debit cards, the Speed Queen mobile app, and Scan to Pay with Apple Pay, Google Wallet, or Samsung Wallet. There is also an ATM on site. The change machine takes $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills and dispenses quarters.
Is there a card surcharge?
Only on Scan to Pay, which adds 25 cents. Paying through the Speed Queen app removes that surcharge, and coins, cash, and cards at the machine have no added fee.
What is the Speed Queen app location code for Jerome Handy Wash?
The location code is JEROME. Download the free Speed Queen app for iPhone or Android, create an account, add a payment method, and enter JEROME to connect to our machines. From there you can see which machines are free before you leave the house, start a machine from your phone, watch the time left on your cycle, and get a notification when your laundry is done. Our sister store TF Handy Wash in Twin Falls uses the code HANDYW.
A machine took my money or stopped mid cycle. What do I do?
Email help@jeromehandywash.com or call (208) 420-6328 and tell us the time of day, the machine number, and what happened. We answer within 24 hours. Refunds come back as a machine credit, or we start the machine for you remotely. There is a sign inside the store with the same information, in English and Spanish.
How long does a load take?
A quick wash is about 18 minutes, a normal wash about 22, and a heavy wash about 44. A typical load dries in about 18 minutes. Those are measured on our machines, not brochure numbers. Most customers wash a whole week of laundry in under an hour by running several machines at once.
Do you have washers big enough for a comforter?
Yes. The 80 pound washers take just about anything that is machine washable according to its care tag, including king comforters, sleeping bags, and area rugs. Most home washers only hold 10 to 14 pounds, which is why bulky items never really come clean at home.
Is there anything I cannot wash there?
Please do not put items with solid waste, excessive dirt, mud, grease, or other debris into the machines. Rinse or knock off the worst of it first. Also skip anything the care tag says is not machine washable. It is not about being fussy, it is that the next person should not inherit what came off your load.
Is the water softened?
Yes, all of it, hot and cold, and the hot water comes from on-demand gas water heaters so it does not run out. Magic Valley water is hard, and softened water rinses cleaner, needs less detergent, and does not leave towels stiff. Almost nobody around here advertises this, but you can feel it in the laundry.
Is there free WiFi?
Yes. Join the network Jerome Handywash and use the password handywash. It is TDS Fiber gigabit service, roughly 1,000 Mbps down and up, and the signal reaches the folding tables and the far corners of the building. The guest network is kept separate from the payment and camera systems.
Do you sell detergent and supplies?
Yes. Single-use detergent, fabric softener sheets, bleach, and stain remover are $1.25 each from the vending machine by the entrance. There is also snack and drink vending, roughly $0.75 to $3.00.
Is the laundromat accessible?
Yes. There is accessible parking right at the door, a level concrete path with a detectable warning strip at the curb, a wide double-door entrance, and an accessible family restroom for customers.
Is there a restroom?
Yes, an accessible family restroom for customers.
Is it safe, and is anyone on site?
The store is unattended, and it is covered by 12 high definition security cameras inside and out. The room is bright, the parking lot is lit at night, and the front is glass so you can see in and out. If you need anything, email help@jeromehandywash.com or call (208) 420-6328.
Is there somewhere to sit and fold?
Yes. There are 5 stainless folding tables, five six-foot benches, one four-foot bench, rolling laundry carts, flat-screen TVs, and a picnic table outside. The building is heated and air conditioned, and it gets cleaned daily.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes. Children need to be supervised by an adult and be respectful of the machines, the property, and the other customers.
Are pets allowed?
Service animals are welcome.
Do you offer wash, dry and fold or pickup and delivery?

What areas do you serve?
Jerome first, and the greater Magic Valley around it, including Twin Falls, Wendell, Gooding, Shoshone, Hazelton, and Eden. Jerome sits in the middle of all of it, so most of the county is a short drive.
Are you related to TF Handy Wash in Twin Falls?
Yes. Jerome Handy Wash and TF Handy Wash are co-owned by the same family, Seth and Eric Watte. Jerome is the newer location, with more machines, larger washers, more parking, drink vending, and TVs. The Speed Queen location code for Twin Falls is HANDYW and Jerome is JEROME.
Is there a change machine and an ATM?
Yes to both. The change machine takes $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills and dispenses quarters, and there is an ATM on site. You do not have to bring coins, though. Cards and the app both work at every machine.
How do I contact you?
Call or text (208) 420-6328, or email help@jeromehandywash.com. The phone rings to Seth. For a machine problem, include the time, the machine number, and what happened, and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
